You know...Sloth Day.
December 26th.
The most beautiful day of the year, when young and old wear stretch pants, eat leftovers and take naps.
May Sloth Day be filled with joy and lethargy for all!
This is the last Clay Baboons post of 2012. Thanks for reading! I'll see you again in the new year!
Oh how I wish I could be a sloth today. I tried to get this day off, but too many others beat me to it. Alas, on my way to work to be a sloth in my cubicle whilst I pretend to work really hard...only I shan't be wearing stretch pants. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteThis post might have been a little insensitive towards all of you poor folk who have to work on sloth day. Sorry about that!
DeleteWe are getting a blizzard today in Ohio so it will be a slothful couple of days...love it!!
ReplyDeleteour blizzard came today. No one can go home yet, so sloth day has been extended. Getting snowed in is great...so long as you don't have anywhere to be!
DeleteEnjoy your day! Hope you have a wonderful New Year Stephanie!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the entertaining clay-posts in 2012. I'm looking forward to more of your clay-peeps in 2013!
thanks Michelle! You too! I really hope to post more regularly in 2013.
DeleteWait, it's Sloth Day? What am I doing at work? Oh, right - the US doesn't recognize Sloth Day. Good thing I did all that stuff yesterday...
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
sadly, sloth day is recognized less and less in Canada as well. The 26th is still officially a holiday, but more and more things are open. So lots and lots of people have to work. Bah, humbug.
DeleteJoy and lethargy!! I love it! Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year, Stephanie!!
ReplyDeleteYou too, Fran!
DeleteSloth Day?!
ReplyDeleteI knew I shouldn't have gone to work!
Pearl
I hate it when I accidentally go to work on Sloth Day.
DeleteMy yoga pants wish your yoga pants a happy 2013.
ReplyDeleteMy slipper socks wish yours the same.
DeleteAhh Sloth Day. The greatest day of the year! *stuff another mince pie into face hole*
ReplyDeleteSee you in 2013 Stephanie. :)
Mince pie is sweet, which is really perplexing. I tasted it for the first time last year. I was surprised by the fact that they weren't made of meat. The world is a strange place.
DeleteElastic pants! Where we're you and your sage advice when I was packing for travel!? Might have to put my Jammie's back on!
ReplyDeleteNEVER travel without stretch pants. I thought that was a rule that everyone lived by!
DeleteHappy New Year, Stephanie! Looking forward to reading your blog in 2013. It's Boxing Day in the UK -- I am waiting for my box of food so I don't have to cook.
ReplyDeleteoh, is THAT what boxing day is all about? That's way better than a punch in the face.
DeleteAnd the same to you!
ReplyDeletexoxo Queen Sloth
ah, I see that you're celebrating too...
DeleteAnd I thought I was the only one who celebrated Sloth Day!
ReplyDeleteI really hope that it spreads. It's a non-denominational holiday that celebrates laziness and gluttony. It's very inclusive.
DeleteI look forward to seeing your blog in 2013 . . . . I hope you have a great year.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rob! I wish you the same!
DeleteWhat a lovely holiday! I didn't realize that is what I have been celebrating all along.
ReplyDeletegiving it a name legitimizes it.
DeleteSloth Day. I didn't get to celebrate! I had to work and never got left overs! I'll make up for it tomorrow when I don't get out of bed except to find left overs.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated Sloth Day! You'll have to eat twice as much today to make up for yesterday...
DeleteI had the best sloth day ever :D I read and slept and slept and ate leftovers and wrote stuff and watched tv and slept. It was amazing :D
ReplyDeleteM. x
You really did honour to sloth day! Those are all of the major sloth day traditions.
DeleteI HAD A GREAT SLOTH DAY I GOT TO COME HOME AND RELAX WITH LEFTOVERS & FAMILY OR MAYBE IT WAS JUST LEFTOVER FAMILY?? MAY THE NEW YEAR BRING YOU GREAT PLEASURES MY COPY OF THE BOOK SHOULD BE HERE TOMORROW SO EXCITED WOOHOO!! ~JANICE~
ReplyDeleteMy copy will BA waiting for me as soon as I get home from my parents house. I can't wait to read it!
DeleteSloth Day -- so THAT's what it's called. Wow. You know how you've always known something without knowing what it is? Yep. That.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you learned something new. This blog obviously exists to inform!
DeleteThe best part of sloth day is that you can cover so much of it with gravy.
ReplyDelete:-)
Pearl
Hahaha! Legitimately laughed out loud at this.
DeleteI had to work on Sloth day and it really made me quite angry. The day after Christmas is more exhausting than the Christmas itself. Sloth day should be considered another paid holiday!
ReplyDeleteIt is an official holiday here in Canada! Unfortunately, most retailers stay open now, so there are fewer and fewer people slothing. Sad face.
DeleteMerry Merry Sloth Day to you too! You got it right! Best day!
ReplyDeleteI miss it already.
DeleteI was away. I'm still wearing stretch pants. Hope that's ok ;)
ReplyDeleteVery, very ok.
DeleteHappy Sloth Day to you, too!
ReplyDeleteWe should make up some carols.
DeleteHappy Sloth Day, Happy Christmas, and Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteSame to you, my friend!
DeleteToday is my sloth day, because the kids went back to school! Hurray!
ReplyDeleteHappy New year!!
Sloth day is always better when the kids are at school!
DeleteWait - isn't January Sloth Month? I do believe it is. Don't listen to all the 'resolutions!', 'get to the gym!', '10 pounds off by Valentines Day' - its Sloth Month. I think we should all make like bears and hibernate.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Sloth month...love it. It should be printed on calendars: "January is internation sloth month!"
