He's Coming...

Am I the only person who finds that song creepy?

I mean...the lyrics. And the grammar.

Shudder.

  2. Well Miss Stephanie that is quite a Santa and not entirely what I was expecting. But looking closely at him I think he might be one of those aliens that plan to destroy the World on the 21st Dec.

On the other hand it might just be Santa and he is a little annoyed that the World is due to End on the 21st Dec after spending all year sorting presents out. I think it might be best not to show that last picture to small children he is seriously scary . . . . .WELL COOL and well done, Love your Santa he is cute in his own sort of way (as long as he kept chained to a wall).

  4. I never noticed the creepy factor as a kid. I'm wondering how much my behavior would've changed had I seen that last picture of Santa?? :)

  5. Now that you mention it...

Sounds like the kind of thing stalking laws were invented for...

  9. In my imagination, Santa's lawyers are on the phone with the writers of that song, trying to sue them for defemation for implying that he watches children while they are sleeping.

  10. Ha! I used to wonder why he was really watching me.

  13. HA! Come to think of it, the song DOES make him sound like an undercover agent for Homeland Security.

  14. You're not alone - it's one of the worst! I can't stop laughing at the "He sees you when you're sleeping" frame. :)

  15. I love this. OMG. That song is just evil, really. It's like the creepy Pedo-Santa song. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who sees it like that! And YAY, you're back.

  16. Yes, I did indeed always find that song creepy! I remember as a kid asking my parents..."So, Santa can see me when I'm going to the bathroom?" They reassured me that he doesn't watch when kids are in the potty, but the song says he is always watching...I wasn't convinced.
    I'm still not convinced.

But then again, I've always been the type to over-think, well, everything! Inquiring minds need to know these things! ;)

Great post, I always look forward to reading yours!

  17. Why, why does he have to see me when I am sleeping!?!?!

  18. Well, I will never think of that song the same way again!
Just like I didn't realize that 'baby it's cold outside' was basically date rape.

  19. A chill just went down my spine.

  20. I thought this too! I was always worried he was watching me get dressed.

Fortunately, I figured out he wasn't real at a fairly young age, and I could freak my little sister out about him.

  21. I have to say that now that you have made this visual for me, I would have been totally creeped out as a kid. Thankfully I can now just enjoy your fine art form...complete with threatening Santa!

  22. How else are you supposed to get children to behave? Someone's gotta be watching them at all times!

  23. And THIS is why I'm so happy you're back.

    You are a rock star.

  24. I work at a big department store that plays its own rather eclectic mix of Christmas music - including, and I am not making this up, a hip-hop version of "Here Comes Santa Claus" with the distinctive bass/drum line of "Another One Bites the Dust." Never has Santa seemed so sinister.

(There's also a remix of "Joy to the World" that uses a famous guitar riff from Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear the Reaper." Because inappropriate sampling spans genres.)

    1. I'm answering you here since you don't have a blog/email address. You might never see this...but I just have to say that this is AWESOME. I would love to know the name/artist so I can find that song! I need it!

  25. Now that you put it that way...

    LOL!

I did always think it was creepy that he knows everything about you.

  26. I hadn't noticed in all my Decembers on this earth, but I'm eager now to share your version with my children. Maybe it will scare them into angelic behavior, as intended.
