And so, in no particual order, here are 7 things that I love. As usual, my favourites skew towards the funny.
Thing One
How To Get a Hipster on Verbal Vomit is laugh-out-loud funny. I'm new to her blog, and I love her already. (Confession: I don't really know what a hipster is, despite reading about them all over the interwebs. But I'm going to laugh at them anyway.)

Thing Two
Unstructured time, or, don't unplug that TV just yet: a cautionary tale on MannahattaMamma is a funny, light-hearted post about independent creative kids...and how much easier life would be if they just watched TV instead.
Thing Three
A whole lot of no babies coming out of me on Creative Devolution has - bar none - the best illustration of women pumping out babies that I've ever seen. And now I'm laughing again just thinking about it. Here, look:

The rest of the post is just as funny.
Thing Four
Don't you hate it when you're at a party, and someone hands you a tooth, and then she forgets to pick it up before leaving? Yeah, me too. Check out The Tooth on Books of Adam.

Thing Five
Gweenbrick is beginning to see the light. The Prozac Man's in town!

Thing Six
The following is a very Not Safe For Work link. (No, seriously. Don't click on it if you're bothered by swearing. Or descriptions of sex. Or spoofs of allegedly badly-written mommy porn.)

Gilbert Gottfried Reads Fifty Shades of Grey. I can't even tell you why this is so funny. But I laughed and laughed and laughed until my stomach hurt. (Did I mention that it's not safe for work?)
Thing Seven
I've gotten shout-outs from some really amazing bloggers over the past few months. While I don't pass on awards, I always appreciate being recognized. Thank you so much for your support!
And just a comment...
You might notice that I won't be replying to every single comment anymore. It was getting overwhelming, and I'm pretty sure no one ever came back to read them anyway. I will still respond to any questions, and also to some comments (especially if you don't have a blog, or if I can't comment on your blog for whatever reason), but not all of them. I figure that people would prefer that I visit and comment on their blogs, rather than just responding to them here, and I get overwhelmed trying to do both. I do read and love and reread every word you write here, though! Thanks, as always, for reading!
Happy Wednesday everyone!
it's so good to see you back in action my dear ;)
ReplyDeleteBut you will still respond to MY comments, right? Hello? Stephanie? Hello?

Errr...yeah. Of course. OBVIOUSLY.

yay! you're back! I love your posts and always will.
ReplyDeleteM. x
Hey, whatever works for you comment wise (you get a lot of comments...i get maybe 5 max..which makes replying a little less burdensome..and I know I don't always get a chance to check replies in my blog travels either!).
ReplyDeleteYay! I'll read your posts whenever you want to post! Thanks for sharing these links... I always enjoy the introduction to new funny stuff.
ReplyDeleteOH NO, Iago reading 50 Shades? How many times does he randomly yell "AFLAC" during the reading???
ReplyDeleteAh, you always have good links. I'll have to check em out! (Gottfried reading 50 shades first, of course)
ReplyDeletehappy wednesday, stephanie!
ReplyDeletei always enjoy seeing what makes my friends laugh - thanks for sharing your seven things. things that are making me laugh these days: listening to country music, wearing knee high (compression socks), watching real housewives of vancouver...i'll stop there as it's too hot for my brain to be taxed any further.
re commenting: that's why i copy people on my comments, because i figure otherwise they would not check back. i hope that is not annoying for you (??) - i know i usually forget to check back on people's blogs to see if they replied!
Not annoying at all! I like it! And if Blogger had the same setup, then it might be worth doing. But I don't it does.
DeleteOH the heavens have opened up and allow us a little piece.. you are BACk to the beloved story sharer I love!!! I try to remember what comment I left where and see if I get a comment back but with so many wonderful entertainers in my dashboard I get lost and its a crap shoot if I find my way back to get my response so keep on keeping on. happy 4th to you hope you have a great day :))
ReplyDeleteIf only women could pussy-fart babies like that - it would make giving birth so much easier for them. They'd just need a doctor with a pair of baseball gloves.
ReplyDeleteI loved The Tooth post but I added the rest to my ever growing list of blogs to check out. I think I have close to 40 now because every one is like "Hey, check out this person!" and I never remember. But I will eventually read it! haha
ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad about not commenting on both your blog and your commenters' blogs. I agree that people generally prefer that you comment on their blog and I've seen stats that show people don't really go back to check for comments. Sometimes I do, and sometimes I don't. Either way, you gotta do what you can to have energy for blogging instead of having commenting take up ALL of your time. IMO.
ReplyDeleteThose birthing pics cracked me up. Wow.
I know that I sometimes check back on my comments, if I left something long or if I know that the person always responds. But overall, given the choice, I personally prefer that people talk to me here rather than on their own blogs. So I figure a lot of other people probably feel the same!
DeleteRats! Two kids, and I was not a dancing ninja either time! Can't wait to check out all of the fun! I always get a kick just out of seeing clay Stephanie! :)
ReplyDeleteyou look and sound happy..... good. And I always get back to blogs to check comments. But you get a lot of comments so it makes sense to do what you plan to do. Luckily I do not have the same problem.
ReplyDeleteHi Rob.
DeleteHi.
I have found a solution to this responding to comments.
That's cool Rob, what is it?
Well I thought I could do it.
Just one thing Rob.
Yes.
You're a bit boring, so its OK
AH...........
Bye then.
Bye.
I'm just so happy you are posting!
ReplyDeleteBooks of Adam is amazing. Unfortunately, it seems he does not post often.
ReplyDeleteBut when he does, it's quality!
DeleteThis is hysterical, Stephanie...Ralph Loves Gilbert Gttfried, I must show him! I've seen the one with Ellen DeGeneres reading it which was funny. Thanks for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're posting again! I missed-ed you.
ReplyDeleteHi Stephanie!
ReplyDeleteHappy to read a new post from you. I love getting blog recs, so thanks for the new to me sites to peruse. :)
haha- I can't wait until I can go somewhere to watch the 50 shades of gray link :)
ReplyDeleteThe 'no babies' was hilarious!
ReplyDeleteAnd, I agree about the comments on comments thing. It can take longer than the actual post, and I don't have nearly as many commentors as you do!
Well done! I love them all!
ReplyDeleteThose were some great ones! I have been away so I am trying to catch up on some of my favs...like you!
ReplyDeleteLove your links, will check them out, hopefully I will laugh too. Can I click on the inappropriate one if I own my own business? Since you told me I couldn't I want to really badly.
ReplyDeleteI find the whole blog thing overwhelming...
Glad you're back, and interesting links! Seem of them are really funny :D
ReplyDeleteWe love you and are jealous of your talent, CB!
ReplyDeleteI actually did finally check the awesome list you shared and found some of them quite amazing/entertaining. Thanks for the heads up! You rock!
ReplyDeleteLove your figurines...but I already told you that. :))
Saw you at Super Earthling and thought I'd take a peek. Looking forward to seeing some clay! :-)
ReplyDeleteLove a litte sharsie time :) There goes my productive afternoon. I love that you have so many comments now. WELL DONE! Keep up the good work lady-face. Love Elle xo
ReplyDeleteHaha! Great links!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these! I laughed a lot.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I watched the video of Gilbert Gottfried reading Fifty Shades of Grey. That somehow made the book a bit more bearable to handle (I read it and hated it - horrible bit of writing, but that's just me).
ReplyDeleteWhat great links! I try to comment on some of my posts, but it is difficult to visit other blogs and comment.
ReplyDeleteThese are great things. I've still gotta get to a couple of them... Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for introducing us to these great bloggers. Sat here at my desk dying of laughter when I read that babies pumping cartoon! xo Anja @ cocalores.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteYou find the best blogs! Most of my reading list is suggestions from you! Thanks!
