is for Easter candy.
I love mini-eggs.

I mean, I really really love them. If one mini-egg is delicious, 20 mini-eggs are divine.

In fact, I love all candy and chocolate.

I'm not a moderate person. I'm not a person who happily eats a small piece of chocolate and then puts the rest away until later.

You know how you can sometimes take that one bite that sends you over the edge? That one bite that makes the difference between "uncomfortably full" and "what is wrong with me?!?"
Well, I take that bite.
A lot.

Easter candy triumphs. Again.

But I will rise from the ashes of pastel sugar and broken chocolate and zombie peeps.
I have to. I still have half a bag of mini-eggs tucked away in the cupboard.

Hhahahahah what a waste of candy for you to make the one picture! So sad! (I like candy toooo)
ReplyDeleteOh, don't worry. I bought a REALLY big bag of mini-eggs, so I only wasted a handful. And I don't actually like peeps...I just think they're funny.
DeleteThat's me! Only covered in Cheetos and Nachos; I'm not really a candy girl. Which might be worse, because they're year round vile temptations. :\
ReplyDeleteHa! When I saw the smashed candy I didn't think "waste of candy" I thought "waste of clay."
Ha! I should have put my sugar-covered self on a bed of nachos, because I do love salt and cheese too!
DeleteAnd don't worry about the clay. That me was looking pretty grungy. It was ready to be retired.
Stephanie, this is Excellent! I gave up chocolate for Lent so this is probably what I'll look like Sunday morning! My favorite is Zintner's Butter Cream Eggs. You've probably never heard of them because the are native to the Philadelphia area. I've been trying to figure out how I can get them after we move to New Mexico. Thank goodness for the Internet!! Great job!
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to get them to ship you a whole crate!
Deletetoday's pictures/use of clay take the cake! er...the easter candy!
ReplyDelete"there's room for everybody!" -> that is my favourite.
i do not understand people who can take a wee bite or eat 2.5 mini eggs - go big or go home!!
enjoy your candy 100% this weekend, stephanie!!!
Go big or go home...I've always loved that expression. I think it maybe dates me. Ha!
DeleteMini eggs are my favorite too. So moorish, one a bag is open that is it, game over, they are GONE. I also love a kinder egg, my mum bought Kitt and I giant ones for Easter. I am really looking forward to munching on them come Sunday morning.
ReplyDeleteI've never been one for kinder eggs. I like mini-eggs and I loooove the malted eggs. Confession: I actually hate peeps. I just think they're funny.
DeleteAre we related? Because I have this problem too. Yesterday at work someone put a bag of peanut butter M&Ms on the break room table. I took a small handful. I didn't want to be selfish and take them all (in other words, I didn't want to look like the pig that I am), so that evening I went and bought myself a bag.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter! Enjoy all the candy... just don't go into a sugar coma.
Sisters in the struggle! Ha! Peanut butter chocolate is a major weakness of mine...
DeleteI know it shouldn't, but the sight of the zombie peeps eating your legs and hair made me laugh. I also love that tomorrow's post is credited to today's post. You crack me up.
ReplyDeleteNo, it SHOULD make you laugh. Seriously, it's kind of embarrassing that I spent a good chunk of my day taking pictures of peeps eating me. So I'm glad you found it funny.
Delete...And this comment made me laugh almost as hard. :)
DeleteI actually have half a bag of mini-eggs left over from last Easter. And yet, I'm more of an "eat it til it's gone" kind of girl. I am also kind of sad because I love Cadbury creme eggs, and I gave up sweets for Lent, so now I'm counting down the days until I can eat those 2 I have stashed supposedly for my daughter's Easter basket. It's tooooo loooooong!!! I can't wait any more! (I hate those marshmallow things though. Not a fan of marshmallow.)
ReplyDeleteI really do love mini-eggs. But it's confession time: I don't actually like peeps. I just think they're funny.
DeleteLove the post, Stephanie! Have I got a deal for you...
ReplyDeleteI'll trade you all my chocolate mini eggs (I despise chocolate) for all of your red jelly beans and gumdrops.
Just make the drop by 10pm in the trash can next to the pavilion at the park...
I HATE red jelly beans! So you've got yourself a deal! (I'll keep the green, orange and black jelly beans, though.)
DeleteEvery time I read your blog I am ridiculously happy. I love this post. I adore Cadbury mini eggs. Not so much the marshmallow bunnies, but oh, the mini eggs.
ReplyDeleteWhy did I give up sugar for the month of April? Oh yeah, now I remember. Because I can eat an entire bag of mini eggs.
I gave up sugar for April too! But obviously it didn't really work out for me...
DeleteLove it, Stephanie! Zombie peeps!!!! =)
ReplyDeleteMost things are cooler when they're zombies.
DeleteYes, they are! =)
DeleteHaha this is brilliant and completely true! I do the exact same :S I tell my self every year that I never feel from chocolate... and then a bowl of chocolate eggs, a chocolate bunny and 2 big eggs later and I'm stretched out and groaning on my bed thinking I'm going to explode like Mr Creosote from Monty Python. Instead, I should save the chocolate.. though this year i've made a pact with my lenting (is that a word?) self...I will eat choccy on Easter day, but no more after that until my birthday. That means I'll have to eat it all in one day or...I can't believe I'm actually saying this...give it to my brother! (shock horror!).
ReplyDeleteM x
P.S. I can't get over how brilliant your clay models are. I find them hilarious! Thank you for spending so much time on them! They brighten up my day :) x
I'm really good at setting goals for myself: no processed sugar this week, no junk food this day. Unfortunately, I'm even better at not sticking to my goals. Ha!
Deletelove it!
ReplyDeleteas much as i miss the taste of chocolate and candy... i am kind of glad for my hypoglycemia some days...
i was such a sugar monster as a kid... i can only imagine it would have become much worse...
oh...
so much worse. ;)
I sometimes think that the only way that I'd ever be able to give up sweets would be if I had a medical condition!
DeleteEggstatically funny! I wish I still liked chocolate as much as I did before when I really liked chocolate. I'd rather have a soft boiled chicken egg. :(
ReplyDeleteI love chicken eggs too. And I really wish that I liked chicken eggs more than chocolate eggs.
DeleteLol, I'm glad I'm not the only one! I love mini-eggs, I love all chocolate. Unfortunately, I also love savoury stuff too :-/
ReplyDeleteOh, me too, me too. I'm a junk food lover who just happens to know a lot about health food. I really WANT to a be a healthy eater. I just have a hard time committing!
DeleteI thought I was the only one that ate chocolate until I'm sick, long after I'm full. I actually went Easter shopping yesterday, to assemble an Easter basket for my parents... and of course, I do the 'one for you, one for me' kind of thing. It's only fair... right...?
ReplyDeleteOh, you are definitely not the only one. Alas, we are many.
DeleteOMG.. you are freaking FUNNY... I so want to come over to your house to play.. I can only IMAGINE... &I too am all about the chocolate...
ReplyDeleteWell...thanks! You can come over and play if you want. I have lots of clay. And chocolate.
DeleteThis was awesome! I also hate peeps. Marshmallows are for s'mores only. Now that I've read this I'm craving chocolate and need to go down to the lobby and get a chocolate bar... thanks.
ReplyDeleteI don't like eating peeps. But they're fun to microwave and to take pictures of. Sorry to feed your chocolate frenzy!
DeleteEggscellent (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKUOB8MN4Kc) Today I did an Easter Hunt with the little people. I ate the most eggs so I won! :) Oh and E is for Elle too... just sayin'
ReplyDeleteThat splattered cream egg made me NEED chocolate! Of all the pics... yes it was that one.
Love Elle xo
Yay! You win at being awesome! re: the cream egg...seriously? Not exactly what I was going for! Haha!
DeleteSo cute and inventive! And I love your spoiler alert! :)

DeleteThat Cadbury creme egg is calling my name. They're my favorite! And I'm with you on the peeps, not a fan. They, of all candy, make me feel like I instantly have a cavity from chewing on foamy air. However, blowing them up in the microwave is another matter altogether!
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't really love creme eggs! i THINK that I like them, but then I can never eat more than one. So I obviously don't REALLY like them. Not the way that I like mini-eggs.
DeleteTrue, they are very sweet and full of creme. Mini eggs are perfection. Just small enough that you don't feel like you're gorging yourself with obscene amounts of candy.
DeleteThat was very clever but it looks like hard work to keep it up, all the way to Z.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, it will be hard. The problem is that I started this blog specifically for clay posts, so I don't want to do anything else. But yeah, it's a bit time consuming. I think I'm going to have to try to pre-write a few, or I might fizzle out.
DeleteI just have to say I love this whole thing. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Kait! The best part of making it was microwaving the peeps. ;)
DeleteI love Cadbury Cream Eggs, but you're right, if you eat too much you'll feel sick...but who has the willpower to stop?!
ReplyDeleteChristmas is my worst candy eating time though. Those Toffifee's chocolates are my Kryptonite. I will eat an entire box in one sitting. I can't help myself. They are too good to stop!
Christmas IS dangerous. I remember getting a box of toffifee one year! They are really good. My worst candy-eating time is Halloween, though. I can't buy the fun-sized chocolates too early, or I'll eat the whole package.
DeleteI hear you, Sister. This is me exactly. Exactly!
ReplyDeleteMy mom is so confused by this part of my personality---"Why would you keep eating if you don't feel good?"
I don't know. I just don't know!
Oh, JP says that to me all the time: "Just have a little bit". Yeah, doesn't work.
DeleteHahahahaha! The Lil man and I, being complete chocoholics, laughed out loud at this posts!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely hilarious!
I have to admit that I giggled like a crazy person while taking all of the pictures.
DeleteLast night I walked down the "holiday aisle" at the local store. I just wanted to smell it. I can't BUY it. Boyfriend kept glancing over at me.
ReplyDelete"I just want to look," I said, "is that so wrong?"
I, too, have a problem.
Hi, I'm Leauxra, and I will stuff my face with candy until my stomach explodes.
Hahaha! This comment made me laugh out loud. I think it's hilarious that you window shop for Easter candy. That actually takes a lot of self-control!
DeleteThat. Is. Hysterial.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it! :)
DeleteWhoops! Killed by Easter candy...story at 10!

DeleteAh and here's my link for today.

I think you should create zombie Peeps. Have you found the dark chocolate mini eggs yet? Like crack I tell you.
ReplyDeleteOoooooh. No. I haven`t tried those yet. But fix that.
DeleteWhy are cadbury mini-eggs not available year round in other shapes? Why?!?!?!?!? This post is hilarious!!! Have to go forwarded it around!
ReplyDeleteYou're right...there HAS to be a market for that!
Deleteso perfect! you rock!
ReplyDeletebest,
MOV
Thank you my friend! Likewise!
DeleteOoh, do I know that feeling! :/ I fear that I may just go overboard this year with the Cadbury crème eggs because I have been deprived of them for nearly THREE WHOLE YEARS...
ReplyDelete-Barb the French Bean
Three years! That's inhuman!
DeleteCandy not so much. Now, Pizza! My aorta is sorta made of pepperoni. I'm sure there will be some kind of Italian pizza bird sucking the spaghetti out of my head when I overdose and die.
ReplyDeleteHa! "My aorta is sorta made of pepperoni" <-- that's officially my new favourite line.
DeleteWhat does it say about me that it made me sad to see the smashed/exploded candy...in a "she had perfectly good candy she could have eaten, and now it's smashed and not eatable...I wonder if she was able to salvage any of that candy after smashing it..."
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry I upset you. I'd say "no peeps were hurt in the making of this post", but I'd be a liar. If it makes you feel any better, the candy will all be half-price next week!
DeleteZombie Peeps!! That's hilarious...it could be a post all it's own (hint hint...the letter Z)
ReplyDeleteYou're the SECOND person to spoil my letter Z! At least warn people before posting spoilers... Ha!
DeleteSometimes I feel bad about eating just one piece of candy so I eat another. But I also have a fixation on prime numbers so I eat a third. I tell myself "This is a good stopping place." Sometimes I listen and walk away. But even long after the sweets have been consumed their call lingers in the back of my head, promising me sugary pleasure. And I am called back for a fourth. Four is a terrible number because of its divisibility. So I eat a fifth. Five is prime, but it's also common. Many things are divisible by the number of 5. 7 is actually a very good place to stop, but I simply can't. My will has been worn away. I have simply lost the ability to say no. Usually I'll get down to where there is only a handful of them left and I offer them to a friend. Usually they say no. And so I eat the last of them along with my dignity. I go home feeling terrible, cry at reality television, and have terrible nightmares. And the next time (perhaps weeks away) the candy bowl is full again, I've already forgotten my past enslavement. I tell myself "Maybe just one."
ReplyDeleteThis comment made me laugh out loud. I'm thinking you should expand it to your next blog post...
DeleteHoly Evil Zombie Peeps!! I knew there was a reason why I eat so many each year: I'm trying to save as many others as possible!
ReplyDeleteHa! But that's the thing with zombies. It's all good until a giant wave shows up. There's no way you can eat them fast enough.
DeleteI eat until I make myself sick, and then I don't feel like it again for at least a week! I'm so glad we get a story a day from you in April!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you're glad. I'm just hoping that I can keep it up! (And I have to admit...I'm looking forward to going back to once-a-week posts!)
DeleteGood luck! You can do it!
DeleteHaha I think this is the best post ever! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tracie! That means a lot coming from you! ;)
DeleteI love this post, and the pics! I also love mini eggs but mostly creme eggs. Since I can't get cadbury's here anymore (sobs wildly!) I have a parcel from my wonderful mum sat waiting with instructions that I am NOT to open it til Sunday, which I hope will be full of Easter Cadbury goodness! Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteI much prefer mini eggs! I hope your package is filled with sweet gooey chocolate eggs.
DeleteStephanie, Totally understand about you not being able to respond to every comment... ; ) This is an awesome post. I actually bought a bag of Cadbury mini-eggs for myself (okay, it was the second one this season), and my kids said, " Mommy, can I have some?" And I said, "No, these are mine, and I'm not sharing." I mean, seriously, isn't the Easter Bunny going to bring them gobs of candy? Can't a lowly writer have her own chocolate stash? I see them eyeing my mini-eggs, and it makes me nervous. So nervous I've been eating them more quickly now.
ReplyDeleteMini-eggs are NOT meant to be shared. They just aren't. Stay strong!
DeleteHI, way cool! I love the Cadbury creme eggs and each Easter season buy several of them and try to make them last until Easter. This year I bought nine about two weeks ago. Still have three. Reckon I can make it? Ha. Regards to you, Ruby
ReplyDelete6 in 2 weeks? You're pretty much my role model!
DeleteStephanie, I want to put you in my Easter basket! (sorry if that sounded just a tad creepy LOL) Just when I think you can't possibly do something more creative and clever, you prove me wrong--and I become GLEEFUL because your fabulous posts make me SO happy!
ReplyDeleteHa! It's only creepy if your mom eats my ears.
DeleteErrrr...clarification. Because Moms like to eat the ears from their kids' chocolate bunnies.
DeleteI love, love your theme! And those pictures are just hilarious. I'm so glad I got to know you via the A-Z.

Thanks for dropping by! Glad you're enjoying the stories! :)
DeleteWow, even Peeps turn to zombies in your world. This is soooo funny!
ReplyDeleteOMG! You wasted that Cadbury Creme Egg! WASTED IT!
ReplyDeleteThese were great. Had me laughing! Erin
ReplyDeleteI now have a visual for how I feel after invading the Easter basket. :) Ellen
ReplyDeleteLMAO. It must have taken you ages to make it all.
ReplyDeleteI like what Gia said about wasting candy to make this post...so glad you used it sparingly :D I love your clay person!! I totally would be with you on the Easter candy OD but I was too lazy to go out and buy any. Also, I'm afraid of it. I can't say no to it either. I think it attacks the logic part of our brains.
ReplyDeleteLOL this is seriously a very creative post!
ReplyDeleteSo funny and very creative! I too, have a weakness when it comes to anything candy/sugar involved.
ReplyDeleteOMG. TOO FUNNY!!!! awesome photos!
ReplyDeleteAMAZING. I LOVE this. Just love it.
ReplyDeleteBwahAHAHAHAHA!
ReplyDeleteHow creative you are!
Not only can i COMPLETELY relate to this (scary, how much I can relate), I am in awe of your creativity! Fantastic! Got my vote. (-;
Hee hee I'm only partial to jelly beans :)
ReplyDeleteOmG I heart you, seriously. I'm a new fan with big love.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha OMG I just died laughing.
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing Stephanie! You are so talented and this is really hysterical. I am pretty sure this would have been me but I gave away the rest of the chocolate so I didn't turn into a clay person bured by bunnies and Reeses Peanut Butter eggs! So fun:)
ReplyDeleteI'm that kind of person too. We'd obviously be best friends.
ReplyDeleteHillarious! I know that feeling so well :)
ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious. I loved reading it. And then I loved imagining you making this clay person and setting up the shots. You must have been delirious with laughter.
ReplyDeleteoh, i am so totally that person. because if a little is good, a TON has got to be better! :) hilarious.
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks for the genuine smile today! I loved this! I also love candy but I can also love this entry!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Love the pictures. Thanks for making me laugh!
ReplyDeleteGreat images, though I think I got a cavity from reading this post.
ReplyDeleteZombie peeps...does it really get any better than that?
ReplyDeleteThat was hysterical I hopped over from Mov's blog after she gave you a shout out and yes she is right you are ver good, I am now a follower and invite you to follow me as well, happy sugar rush!
ReplyDelete
